Are You Buying Into this Lie?
All this “The rich just get richer” nonsense has got to go.
If you’ve ever believed you don’t have a chance because of who you are, who your parents work, where you were born, or who you were related to, you have been fed a lie.
Life is not pre-destined. It never has been, and it never will be.
Any belief that walks along this mindset is a hangover from the days where the rich really did get richer.
Yes, back in the day, certain families really did have an unfair advantage.
But you are no longer allowed to use that excuse. Sorry.
This Internet thing has completely razed the playing field. Yes, it still helps to have money. No, it is not the only factor.
I’m not saying the world is fair. I’m not saying you will be able to achieve the same thing as a LeBron James (who has great genetics) or a Bill Gates (who happened to be born at the right point in history). But you don’t control any of that.
Here are some things you control:
The amount of money you have in your bank account.
The amount of information in your brain.
The amount of love you give other people.
The amount of work you do in 24 hours.
Want to really change your life? Start with these four.
Don’t like the amount of cash in your bank? Go make more.
Don’t like how little you know? Go read more.
Don’t like the people around you? Go meet new ones.
Don’t like how few things you’re getting done? Go do more.
You can’t go back and be re-born somewhere else. You can’t choose to be a different person with rich parents. You can’t grow up as Tim Ferris’s next-door neighbor.
With every excuse you make, you lay another brick in the wall between you and the place you want to be.
Stop making excuses.
Start changing what you can.
